Sis Khadejah
Sis Khadejah (Kathryn Jones) is an Australian sister who embraced Islam in 1995. She was inspired to read the Qur'an after watching the video about embryology in the Qur'an by Keith Moore. Sis Khadejah started teaching the sisters in her city in 2005, sharing with them what she had learnt from various scholars over the internet. She started teaching online to cater for the sisters that lived too far to attend the classes. Yusuf Estes kindly allowed the sisters to have a room at his website to learn together and from there it has grown beyond the bounds of her city to being an international classroom for sisters. Umm Yousif
Umm Yousif (Maryam Clingan) lives in California, USA and has been a Muslim for 30 years. She has been giving lectures for over 12 years at her local masjid to sisters. She also taught Islamic Studies and Seerah on Sundays to children for about 10 years. She has taken some online classes in Aqeedah, Hadith, Seerah, Fiqh and other subjects from the AIU Islamic University.
Umm Jamaal
Umm Jamaal was born into an Anglo-Saxon protestant Christian household, both her father and grandfather were lay preachers. After reading a translation of the Qur'an, she first believed in the message of Islam in 1986 when she was only 15 years of age, and then later embraced Islam and began practicing it as a complete way of life when she was 19.
After getting married, Umm Jamaal travelled to Saudi Arabia where she studied the Qur'an and rules of recitation at the Darul-Huda Qur'an School in Jeddah. Upon her return to Australia she completed a Bachelor of Arts-Languages degree at the University of Western Sydney, in which she majored in the study of the Arabic Language.
Since 2003 Umm Jamaal has been working as a female lecturer and teacher with the Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jama'ah Association of Australia, as well as delivering lectures around Sydney at various masjids and centres.
